JOB DUTIES:
The UX Manager will provide leadership in user experience and interface design for enterprise design system as well as lead in the development of individual team members and identify opportunities for new features within the product lifecycle of Caterpillar's design system.
Lead team(s) of high performing UX practitioners and projects related to improving the overall digital customer journey while also satisfying our business solutions
Accountable for hiring, managing, and mentoring a team of UI designers to deliver new system features, and components
Lead collaboration and facilitation across multiple product teams, marketing, and brand to ensure scalable solutions.
Recommend best approaches for implementation of user experience.
Carefully evaluate problems and provides input into many possible solutions before selecting one option.
Ideal candidate will take a holistic system-wide view to collaborate, design, and build consistent and lean components that span across multiple product teams.
Report out (along with technical lead) design system progress, concerns, blockers, deliverables, etc.
Emphasis on design consistency, collaborating with multiple teams, documentation of standards, maintaining a library to be used across products.
Managing and delivering Figma components across multiple teams to ensure consistent work flows and patterns.
Reviewing and approving the consistency of our UI standards across products.
Assist products with prioritized adoption strategy, and prioritizing backlog for development team.
Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates, as well as overall employee satisfaction for the team.
Candidate will also support, manage, and evaluate various design software tools required across teams for efficient execution of work. Basic
Qualifications:
Position requires a four-year degree from an accredited college or university
5 years or more experience in creating complex digital application experiences across multiple form factors.
5 years or more of experience leading a team design and managing multiple deliverables and timelines. Top Candidates will also have:
Demonstrated leadership on medium to large-scale projects impacting strategic priorities.
Ability to cope with shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate responsibilities and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Proven experience in many of the following,
Designing maintaining applications at scale.
Leading and facilitating design workshops as needed
Passion for VOC through, usability testing, surveys, or other methods of research.
Experience using design software such as, Figma, Invision, Adobe, etc
Working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum).
Researching data to support design decisions
Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints.
Passion for technology and innovation.
