Exempt Position Summary It is an exciting time to join the Great Hearts People Team.
We are currently in the midst of HR transformation moving from transactional HR support to true 'HR Academy Partners' that work closely with academy leaders to support the organization's mission and cultivate the flourishing of employees and students.
This Human Resources Director role is responsible for the all Texas HR Academy Partners and will report directly to the Texas Superintendent.
The role is based in the Great Hearts Dallas/Fort Worth Home Office and has direct reports based in Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, and other regions as Great Hearts Texas expands.
Duties & Responsibilities Leadership and Collaboration Collaborate with senior leaders in Texas to implement goals and strategies related to employes, including staffing and retention.
Provide guidance around culture and professional best practices; create and facilitate development programs fitting to organizational needs.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and coach all Texas HR Team members, overseeing their daily work and ensuring success of the team.
Work closely with the Great Hearts America Chief People Officer and other People Teams (across Professional Development, Compensation and Benefits, People Operations, and Recruiting) to share best practices and build a strategy of excellence in serving employees.
Alignment and Success of Resources and Programs Ensure resources and programs provided by Great Hearts America are being properly vetted and deployed with excellence, including the following:
benefits and leave programs and administration, talent recruitment, employee data and processes, training and development.
Build a best-in-class HR Academy Partner Team, while drawing on the support of Great Hearts America's People team initiatives.
Examples of these responsibilities include the following:
o Launch the HR Academy Partner Model, which will include developing current talent and hiring new team members.
o Manage Great Hearts Texas HR Budget o Conduct compensation analysis and maintain specific job descriptions.
o Manage employee relations matters, investigations, and all required reporting (Equal Opportunity Employment, harassment, Title VII issues, etc.
).
o Establish and maintain HR policies and practices promoting fair treatment of employees while meeting overall organizational objectives and within compliance of state and federal guidelines; maintain Great Hearts Texas personnel policies, procedures, and handbooks.
o Build knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to regional and national leaders.
Lead Texas HR Academy Partners Act as the strategic business HR Partner for the Texas Superintendent and Home Office employees as well as lead a team of HR Academy Partners for academies in order to deploy the following:
Provide a point of contact for individual onboarding, employee relations issues, investigations, and employee questions related to benefits and payroll.
Partner with leaders around staff management, including performance management, compensation, employee engagement, training and development, and succession planning.
Participate in the staffing process by engaging with our recruiting team, interviewing candidates, and being part of candidate selection.
Track meaningful People performance and staffing metrics and provide consistent updates to leaders regarding organizational trends.
Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Law or related field 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Law or related field 2 years Human Resources management experience.
Previous experience in the education industry.
SPHR or PHR Certification Other Position Information Type of fingerprint clearance:
Valid fingerprint clearance, according to local state regulations.
Physical functions:
Must be able to remain in a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 75%-100% of the time.
Equipment used:
Frequent computer use is expected.
Work Environment:
May be required to move or position equipment up to 10-15 pounds.
Travel:
Must have the ability to travel to the various academies within the region, as needed.
