As a Industrial Maintenance Apprentice for Signal Metal Industries, you will be an important member of the team that assists in various duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
Job
Responsibilities:
Observe and receive training, instruction, and guidance on various tasks.
Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, and undertake relevant training and development activities.
Develops, implements and maintains comprehensive preventative maintenance program for electronic and mechanical manufacturing equipment including welding machines, positioners, mutilators, hydraulic presses and electric hand tools.
Understands and applies electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic troubleshooting and repair skills to various industrial machinery.
Assists in repairs, installation CNC machinery, and other fabrication equipment, including robotics and manual welding equipment.
Reads and interprets blueprints Works with PLC's, ladder logic, and various schematics.
(programming a plus).
Flexible schedule to facilitate emergency repairs Follow LOTO procedures.
Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
Be able to climb a ladder and access hard-to-reach places.
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED is required.
Must have excellent attendance.
Must have a team player attitude and work well with co-workers.
Must provide own general tools and tool box.
A list will be provided.
Technical school degree in Engineering principles or a combination of education and experience Certifications in PM/TMP for Electronic welding machines/ Machine Tools, CMC machinery 1-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with Preventive Maintenance (PM) / (TMP) Experience in Fabrication operations and basic machine functions.
Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, and networking skills Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment as well as controls in the manufacturing environment Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, detail oriented, and thorough Must have 1-3 years of some level of Industrial or Manufacturing background.
Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner.
This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, metatarsal boots, hearing protection, and other required PPE equipment.
Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, and reach around all areas of equipment.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must be willing to work overtime as required.
Must be willing to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, humid, dry and/or dusty conditions) We DO NOT offer relocation assistance, must reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
