- The Supply Chain Leader manages the supply chain team to maximize internal and external customer service while maintaining the lowest sustainable costs.
This includes vendor relations, forecasting, planning, inventory management, purchasing, and transportation.
Skills:
Develops and manages a collaborative work environment within the Supply Chain and Purchasing teams.
Acts as a change agent and promotes cross functional collaboration, process efficiencies, and cross training within these areas for optimal results.
Works to elevate the Supply Chain process as the business evolves.
Works with Sales and Marketing to improve forecast accuracy, support effective new product launches.
Builds and maintains customer and internal stakeholder relationships that will ultimately drive optimal service levels, supply chain efficiency and positive business influence.
Enables and manages a consensus forecasting process of sufficient accuracy and granularity so that it can serve as the basis for resource planning of materials, labor, and equipment.
Sets inventory strategy and manages the analysis to support improvements in service levels, obsoletes, lead time management, and costs.
Sets targets inventory levels to deliver high service and sustainable, low cost.
Adopts best in class purchasing practices to establish replenishment strategies that optimize inventory and customer value.
Actively seeks solutions to reduce lead times and costs while improving responsiveness to customer needs.
Evaluates suppliers compared to our internal production scheduling and inventory replenishment practices.
Leverages optimization models and carrier contractual agreements to reduce transportation costs of finished goods as well as raw/finishing materials.
Leads the development of required reporting to support the operations and sales of the business.
Can develop and craft a strategy to transition and implement supply chain process for existing legacy systems to an integrated ERP solution.
Provides oversight and direction to the department and employees in the operating unit in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures; coaches, mentors, and develops staff, including selection, orientation, and training of new employees.
Education:
Possess a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Production Operations, or related field- preferred.
Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 plus years' experience in demand planning production, inventory strategy, strategic sourcing, procurement, customer support, and transportation/logistics.
Minimum 7 plus years of leadership experience within the areas of Purchasing, Planning, Logistics, Inventory, and/or Forecasting.
Candidate must have exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and integrate existing disparate supply chain data sources to yield strong analytical insights.
Must have a demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex data reporting files in multiple formats and the ability to independently develop new tools and reporting analytics.
Must have the following skillsets:
outstanding financial acumen, inventory management, forecasting, demand planning, replenishment, international procurement, inventory turns, GMROI, Life cycle management.
