The Role:
The SOC Advanced Cyber Defense Team's Malware Analyst is a senior level professional responsible for driving efforts to prevent, monitor and respond to information/data breaches and cyber-attacks.
The overall objective of this role is to ensure the execution of Information Security directives and activities in alignment with Citi's data security policy.
Responsibilities:
Perform in-depth threat research, Malware Analysis/Reverse Engineering, Incident and Investigation/Log analysisEvaluate new technologies in partnership with our engineering team, and develops new SOC internal toolsUtilize strong analytical and malware analysis skills skills built on a proven network security background with knowledge of associated toolsConduct analysis against samples of malicious files in a lab environment Evaluate and recommend new and emerging external products and technologies to implementConduct and facilitate security reviews and table-top/red-team/scenario analysis exercises in conjunction with other Subject Matter Experts by monitoring changes in the risk profile and exposure for the applicationIdentify new requirements and enhancements to standards, tools, and processesDefine secure configurations leveraging technical knowledge and problem solving skills in the network, database, server and desktop technology areas in accordance with the secure process and develop functional specifications and documentationAssist with responsibilities over the technical strategy for an area, technical integrity of process, operations, and associated resultsParticipate in the evaluation and selection of applications and systems with specific focus on IS implications
Qualifications:
6-10 years' experience as it relates to the below qualificationsAdvanced Malware and network analysis experienceKnowledge of malware reverse engineering tools and techniques (Static and Dynamic Analysis) leveraging tools like IDA Pro, OllyDbg, x64dbg, Windbg, Ghidra, etc.
Ability to analyze malware targeting various Operating Systems (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.
)Ability to write custom signatures (IPS/IDS, Yara, etc.
)Familiarity with various malware families and trendsExperience with Threat Hunting and incident investigationExperience with Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, custom signature development skillsFamiliar with offensive tools, tactics, and techniquesPrior experience with various SIEM platforms, EDR, and Anti-Virus solutionsPrior Security Operations Center (SOC) experienceConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationProven influencing and relationship management skillsStrong time management skillsAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and softwareExperience with Machine Learning is a plusKnowledge of various scripting languages is a plusEducation:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
