The Systems Administrator is responsible for building and supporting infrastructure to conform to the scope, process and daily operations as well as the concrete requirements of the business. From design and structural planning, to network and data integrity, to computing hardware and peripherals, this position handles all aspects of networks and systems.
Job
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership for complex system administration activities and drive issues to resolution.
Design, implement and administer Linux servers
Manage Apache, JBoss AS, MySQL configurations with working knowledge of the current versions.
Evaluate hardware, software, backup strategies for specific customer needs and implement accordingly.
Create and maintain system documentation: system access methods, security information, contingency plans, backups.
Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard computer systems and networks including, but not limited to logging and back-up.
Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements:
Strong background in Enterprise Linux; RHEL 5/6 and CentOS 6
Configuration management/automation experience, preferably with Puppet
Familiar with Git version control
Scripting in at least one of three popular scripting languages (Bash/sh, Perl, Python)
Familiar with entire LAMP stack; Apache web servers, MySQL database servers, PHP applications
JBoss AS 7 application servers, configuration, management/monitoring, and package deployment
Effective communication, superior knowledge and outstanding problem solving abilities.
Highly meticulous, self-motivated and results driven with exceptional customer services skills.
Strong leadership, teaming/interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills are required.
Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Systems Administration or Engineering or related field required.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in systems administration (includes management/disaster recovery/support) preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
