Job Duties: Responsible for the discovery and systematic collection of emerging malware-related threats across the globe and work with the Operations and Response Teams for the solutions development. Act as part of the TrendLabs' round-the-clock threat surveillance and response team. Build and foster strategic external partnerships in the computer security industry to represent Trend Micro for collaborative projects related to threat discovery and solutioning standards. Outbound: Establish and foster strategic relationships with external partners and other researchers on malware-related threat research, methodologies and other initiatives related to defense against malware. Inbound: Provide technical guidance to TrendLabs' threat researchers & malware analysts concerning the external best practices in the Security Industry. Define and oversee threat discovery projects and sourcing initiatives, from identification to determining where and how to collect malware samples operationally. Ensure day-to-day operations of external sample sourcing are effectively handed over to the processing teams. Respond to threat incidents, provide insights on how the threat works and work closely with other malware researchers and incident responders. Spot and flag emerging technologies in the Threat Landscape and develop recommendation or proposal papers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree ( or equivalent) in computer science, engineering or related technical field and 5 years' experience. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, will accept 2 years' experience as the equivalent. 1. At least 5 years of in-depth Malware Analysis for discovery, sourcing and solution methodologies. 2. At least two years of project management experience, with proven ability to organize and prioritize projects simultaneously. 3. Network Administration. Ability to setup, manage and implement test (Proof-of-concept) Sourcing systems on a network environment. 4. Data Analysis. Collect and analyze statistical data, studies and reports to identify and determine causes of problems and develop recommendations for improvement of sourcing research and operations. 5. Technical Presentation Skills to articulate Sourcing research results, knowledge transfer, and make actionable recommendations. 6. Written and oral communication
Experience: respond and provide updates on threat-related specific inquiries from external stakeholders. 7. Experience within the threat landscape to select the most appropriate research methodology and sourcing techniques in order to achieve the defined business objectives. 8. Experience with presenting threat researches at security conferences, and public speaking on threat incidents will be an advantage.
