Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant will carry out assigned responsibilities to facilitate accurate and timely closing of general ledgers each month, including:
Recording accruals and other adjustments using journal entries.
Reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy.
Preparing / reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations.
Reviewing legal entity/plant expenses using financial reports to identify potential errors.
Communicating issues to internal customers (plant/business line controllers, corporate accounting) or other functions, as needed.
Identifying, solving and/or escalating accounting issues to Team Lead/Manager.
Continuously improving closing processes and quality
Ensuring compliance with policies/procedures and internal controls.
Assisting with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
0-3 years Experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Microsoft Excel - Intermediate skill level
Desired
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of basic accounting concepts, including cost accounting.
SAP (or other ERP) experience is helpful.
Curious to understand why and questions existing processes.
Exhibits a positive, can-do attitude and approaches responsibilities with an open mind
Demonstrates a healthy skepticism and effective problem solving and analytical skills.
Follows through on commitments and demonstrates ownership of results.
Advanced degree or CPA a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
