Our Dallas, TX office is searching for an Estimator with hard bid and buy-out experience. This person will work out of our office located in Irving, TX. The company will assist with relocation for qualified candidates.
Position
Summary:
The Estimator position plans, leads, and coordinates, all activities associated with the overall Budgeting, Bidding, and Buyout of a construction project. This position analyzes all project documents to determine the overall estimated cost of a project and is involved with projects throughout the Pre-Construction and construction phase.
Job
Responsibilities:
Bid solicitation with local sub-contractors, suppliers, and trade groups, (Blue Book, Bid Mail, Bush Beating, etc)
Produces accurate and thorough takeoffs
Creates project estimates and analysis of subcontractor and supplier bids
Conducts post-bid and pre-buy meetings and negotiation/scope review meetings
Writes Subcontracts, Purchase Orders and Owner Contracts and is responsible for follow-up until executed
Once construction documents are released, works with Architects, Owners, and Engineers to formulate accurate and complete budgets
Reviews conceptual budgets prepared by Pre-Construction
Works with the Pre-Construction and Project Management department during the pre-bid and buyout stage of each project to ensure that the needs of the office and field staff are being addressed
Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree- preferably in Building Construction Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
Ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of estimating experience
Experience with conceptual estimating for project budgeting & negotiating/writing of subcontracts/purchase orders
Must have experience estimating hard bid projects in both public and private sector
Experience with projects ranging from $10 million to $45 million
Project Management or field experience preferred
10% travel required
