Job Description:
Involved in instrument operation using clinical chemistry for the analysis of different analyses commonly encountered in human serum, namely, Albumin, Creatinine, Bilirubin, Total Protein, Alkaline Phosphatase and Aspartate Aminotransferase, etc.
This position in involved in interpreting the assay results obtained from the Clin Chem modules to see if the obtained results are within the range specified for each essay, if there is any outliers, mean shift, or observe whether these outliers/mean shift are clinically or statistically significant or not.
Responsibility for discovering the root cause of outliers and mean shifts frequently observed across some of the clinical chemistry assays including, Magnesium, Creatinine Enzymatic, Phosphorus, as well as analyzing reaction check failure of Creatinine Kinase and rate reaction linearity failure that are responsible for not producing results is required.
The Clinical Chemist will also be responsible for troubleshooting various instrumental problems including reagent loader and reagent and sample manager loading/unloading errors, sample and reagent aspiration errors, fluid transfer issues, cuvette integrity check failure and improving Abbott Clin Chem module reliability.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a chemical or mechanical field of study (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Ecology, Biomedical science, Microbiology, or related.
).
Some work experience or knowledge of testing, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation:
ultraviolet- Visible spectrophotometry instrument, testing integrity of reagents, work with Potentiometry modules, quality control and calibration of immune assay analyzers, immuno-assays, blood chemistry immune assay, verification, validation protocol for research and development of reagents, gas Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry instrument, refractive index and tensile testing, Differential Scanning Calorimeter and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy instrument, Ph - meter, Viscometer and Autoclaving, and microscopic analysis.
