Supports the office by ensuring administrative processes function smoothly and effectively. The paramount qualifications required are basic knowledge and understanding of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques. Incumbent is responsible for providing advice and guidance on varying fiscal and administrative matters to management.Primarily concerned with providing and securing resources or services needed to run the organization. The work involves direct assistance to the supervisor who has the primary responsibility for the direction of the organization established to accomplish the mission. As the office Administrative Professional is responsible for examining current office practices and policies and recommending improvements. Keeps staff current on procedural changes. Interprets new or modified administrative directives and disseminates information.Provides advice and assistance on all issues pertaining to administrative programs. Coordinates and composes standard operating procedures. Ensures travel orders and associated travel documents are prepared accurately and comply with regulations. Analyzes needs and prepares requests for supplies and equipment.Coordinates with Human Resources to obtain guidance on staffing needs, and other offices on logistics and property management for the office. Assists in determining budget requirements using basic budget and financial principles and techniques. To qualify for this position at the FV-F (FG/GS 5-9), you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, recognize solutions, plan and organize work and convey information, with at least one year equivalent to the FG/GS-4 level. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as the work experience provides evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
