The individual selected for this position will:
Use survey methods in order to design, conduct and analyze surveys using statistical software packages. Assist with planning work schedules, assignments and communication strategies are utilized to ensure team performances and cost efficiencies. Assist with communicate progress of data collection operations to management and other staff. Assist with the analysis, review and interpretation of survey data and present the data to others outside the unit or organization MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Entry Requirements for All Grade Levels:
A. Degree:
that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following:
physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing.ORB. Combination of education and experience - courses shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, b) collection, computing and analyzing data, and c) applying statistical techniques such as measurements of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field.GRADE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal services. Experience includes:
working on a single portion of a statistical survey such as data collection, data processing, data analysis, or data presentation. Assisting with leading and motivating a team. Competing projects under a tight deadline. Evaluating progress and cost reports and finding and implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production to improve operations and reduce costs and setting and adjusting short-term priorities; preparing schedules for completion of work based on priorities, difficulty of assignments. Writing, analyzing, reviewing, interpreting tabular, graphic and/ or test reports using survey data and presenting data results.ORYou have one full year of progressively higher-level graduate education.GRADE 09:
you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal services. Experience includes:
Working on a single portion of a statistical survey such as data collection, data processing, data analysis, or data presentation. Assisting with leading and motivating a team, interviewing applicants, making selections and proposing performance and conduct related actions. Evaluating progress and cost reports and finding and implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production to improve operations and reduce costs and setting and adjusting short-term priorities; preparing schedules for completion of work based on priorities, difficulty of assignments. Writing, analyzing, reviewing, interpreting tabular, graphic and/ or test reports using survey data and presenting data results. ORYou have completed two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or you have a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.GRADE 11:
you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal services. Experience includes:
Working on a single portion of a statistical survey such as data collection, data processing, data analysis, or data presentation. Writing technical reports analyzing and interpreting survey results. Experience supervising, managing or leading a team, establishing priorities to include planning and assigning work, interviewing applicants making selections and proposing performance and conduct related actions. Communicating with subordinate staff to achieve goals and objectives in the prescribed timeframes. Evaluating progress and cost reports and finding and implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production to improve operations and reduce costs and setting and adjusting short-term priorities; preparing schedules for completion of work based on priorities, difficulty of assignments. Writing, analyzing, reviewing, interpreting tabular, graphic and/ or test reports using survey data and presenting data results.OR You have 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a doctoral degree or you have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree.GRADE 12:
you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal services. Experience includes:
Working on a single portion of a statistical survey such as data collection, data processing, data analysis, or data presentation. Writing technical reports analyzing and interpreting survey results. Evaluating expenditures and progress reports for data collection operations. Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
